Performance by Vlasta Delimar as part of the exhibition MOTHER
Thursday, March 27, 7 – 9 PM
Galerie Gisela Clement, Lotharstraße 104, 53115 Bonn
Introduction by Dr. Andrej Mirčev (Curator, Artist, and Dramaturge)
Renowned Croatian performance artist Vlasta Delimar presents her powerful performance “The Right to an Orgasm at Over 60” at Galerie Gisela Clement. Since the 1980s, Delimar has challenged the notions of female sexuality and its societal codification through her radical body art. In her work, she deliberately opposes the conventions of a patriarchal system, playing with symbols of female identity such as lace and veils.
This performance, along with a presentation of selected artworks, takes place within the framework of the current exhibition MOTHER, which explores the complexity of motherhood in art, society, and personal experience.
The exhibition features works by Anouk Lamm Anouk, Yasmina Assbane, Renate Bertlmann, Günter Brus, Louisa Clement, Vlasta Delimar, Georg Herold, Sanja Iveković, Sabrina Jung, Mel E. Logan & Sidney Logan, Anna Oppermann, Margot Pilz, Ulrike Rosenbach, Judith Samen, Michael Sardelic, Mariuccia Secol, Annegret Soltau, Gabriele Stötzer, Ivonne Thein, Maria Tobola, and Paloma Varga Weisz.
Curated by Gisela Clement & Miriam Schmedeke, MOTHER will be on view at the gallery until April 25, 2025.
